Planned Giving

Gifts of appreciated assets such as life insurance, stock, real estate and art collections can make a lasting contribution to the Zeitgeist fund, as well as providing significant tax benefits. You can also make the fund a beneficiary of your will, revocable trust, or retirement plan. There are many ways that a planned gift can be a living legacy to sustain the vitally important work of the Zeitgeist Corporation in perpetuity.

Bequests: Gifts Made Through Your Will or Living Trust

To make your generosity felt by the least fortunate among us for years to come, you can donate through wills, trusts, and life insurance gifts. A bequest may take several forms. It can be a specific sum, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate after expenses and gifts to loved ones. Living trusts are a popular choice because the terms of a living trust, unlike a will, can be put into effect immediately upon your death, bypassing probate and keeping the terms private. In certain cases of larger estates, a bequest to charity may reduce the value of the estate enough to minimize or eliminate the estate tax.
If you would like to learn more about making a gift through your will or living trust, please call (213) 892-8888.
